KOTA KINABALU: The body of a man in his 40s was found at Bukit Tangki, Kg. Lok Urai, Pulau Gaya here about 2.50pm yesterday.
District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner M. Chandra, said the body that is yet to be identified was found by a man who was searching for woods at the area.
“Complainants said he smelled something rotten before he found the body of a man in a sitting position with his neck tied with a rope,”
The complainant, a 26-year-old local man, then proceed to lodge a police report at Pulau Gaya Police Station at 4.14pm.
“The victim is believed to have been dead since three weeks ago following its rotting condition,” he added.
No signs of injuries were found on the body and the case is classified as sudden death.
“No criminal elements were found and the victims is suspected to have committed suicide,” he said.
Currently there is no family members claiming the body and the police calls for cooperation from the public who might have lose a family members to lodge a report to help with identification process.
The victim’s body which has been brought to Queen 1 Hospital for autopsy. – SayangSabah
