KOTA KINABALU: A 17-year-old local man believed to be involved with the robbery of Orange 24 hour shop at Api-api Centre, here, has been caught by the police during a raid at a house at Kg. Tanjung Aru Lama.
The suspect, who was with one of his friends entered the premise and pretended to be a customer, before threatening the premise employee with a knife and fleeing with RM800 cash.
The police also seized several items from the suspects, with an estimated worth of RM500.
The District Police Chief, ACP M. Chandra, said the suspect’s accomplice was still being pursued and the public who have information about the suspect are urged to report to the police.
“The escaped suspect is a 17 years old man and nicknamed as Ijam, a Bajau Filipino and addressed at Kg. Pondo Pulau Gaya, Kota Kinabalu,” he said.
The suspects are facing charges under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code which carry a punishment of up to twenty years jail, and caning. -SayangSabah
