KOTA KINABALU: Three men were arrested for not being aware that they were being watched while stealing electronics and a vehicle at SIB church in Taman Milinium, last week.

District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner M. Chandra, said the ‘Geng alfarizal’ gang members aged from 28 to 37 years old were captured by the police thanks to public information at 2.00am, reporting their robbery at the church on 23 February.

“When the police arrived, the three men were still busy hauling up the church properties which are worth RM4,000 before being arrested by the police,” he told the media at District Police Headquarters, Karamunsing, here today.

Two of the suspects who were a mechanic and assistant mechanic are from Taman Ketiau, Putatan and Papar, while the third suspect is from Keningau and working as a trader.

Urine test also showed that the three ‘Geng alfarizal’ gang members are drug positive for amphetamine

“Other items seized by the police are amplifier, guitar, saw, computer sets, and also a Honda Civic vehicle belonged to one of the suspect’s costumer,” he said, adding that the seized items worth are estimated at RM20,000.

According to him, the police is now investigating the possibility that all suspects are involved with several other cases.

The case is investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code with the punishment of 5 years in prison and a fine. – SayangSabah
