KOTA KINABALU – The ‘lion’ made a thrilling performance at Sayfol International School Sabah today in conjunction with the Lunar New Year of the Wooden Goat.
The sound of the gongs and cymbals clashing in the air accompanying a spectacular performance which is supposed to chase away evil spirit and to usher in good luck and prosperity.
This Chinese New Year celebration marked the fourth year of Sayfol International School Sabah establishment in Kota Kinabalu.
It was first founded in 1985 in Kuala Lumpur by Datuk Seri Ghulam Sayeed.
“In Sayfol there is no borders, we have students from 121 countries all over the world and we teach them to respect every religion, races and culture,” said Ghulam to reporters at the Chinese New Year Celebration at Sayfol International School Sabah, here today.
He said that the celebration is a tradition for the schools as it instill good values among the students.
Sayfol International School is one of the oldest international schools in Malaysia. The schools follows the London Edexcel IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) syllabus for secondary school and Edexcel GCE A Levels for the Pre-U program. – By Fizah Yusof/SayangSabah
