RM1.56 billion for rural development in Sabah

KOTA MARUDU: The Federal Government has allocated RM1.56 billion for rural development in Sabah this year, said Rural and Regional Development (KKLW) Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said the allocation was part of the overall allocation of RM5.45 billion provided by the Federal Government via his ministry for rural development nationwide.

Ismail said the allocation, which was 28.8 per cent of the total amount, proved that the Federal Government was very concerned and sensitive to the needs of the people in Sabah, thus silencing the baseless claims by the opposition that the Federal Government was not concerned about Sabah.

“The large allocation for Sabah proved the Federal Government was always attentive to the development of the rural communities in the state,” he said in his speech during the leader with the people programme at the Kampung Tinangol Long House here, today.- BERNAMA
