KOTA KINABALU – Revise all local traders license and ensure that they don’t ‘rent’ them out to illegal immigrants.

Sepanggar member of parliament Datuk Jumat Idris said the Kota Kinabalu City Hall should look into this matter which usually occurred in Inanam ‘tamu’ area.

He said locals who ‘rent’ their licences out should be penalised by having their licences revoked.

Jumat also said that he received many complaints from local traders about the burgeoning number of contraband cigarettes peddlers plying their wares around the place.

He said the relevant authorities should take actions against these people.

Speaking during a swearing-in ceremony of the new elected Inanam Urban Community Development Committee (JKDB) at Gaya Point, here today, he stressed that the new elected Inanam JKDB should act as a catalysts for delivering information and government policies as well as facilitators in delivering feedback to the government on the development and welfare of the people. – By Fizah Yusof/SayangSabah
