KOTA KINABALU: The public are urged to report to the authority about taxi drivers who charge excessively high fares for their service.
Sabah Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs, Datuk Hajah Jainab Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Ahmad Ayid, said the public must be brave in reporting the problem so that a solution can be taken.
“If the public only upload their grouses about taxi fares in the social media but not following up by lodging a report to the relevant authority, then the problem will never get solved,” she explained.
Jainab also said taxi drivers should not use the rise of fuel price as an excuse to hike their fares.
She was speaking during officiating the closing ceremony for the Cekap programme and the launching of the 2016 Substance Awareness Calendar at Kepayan Police Headquarters. –SayangSabah
