KOTA KINABALU: The federal government is urged to refer to the Sabah and Sarawak governments regarding on the implementation of standardized prices for goods.
Sabah Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs, Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid, said the federal government cannot amend the law and criteria for the system without referring to both state governments.
“I call for the federal government to cooperate for this purpose since they may think they understand the situation, but we who live in Sabah know better on the prices of items here,” she said when met by the media at the assistance presentation ceremony for the launching of 1Azam Course at R&R Cake House, Sulaman, this evening.
Meanwhile, she also advised individuals who are interested with entrepreneurship to avoid loansharks.
“I want to remind everyone who want to be an entrepreneur not to take debt from loansharks since our country have proper channels to help those who want to kickstart their own business,” she said.
Some 125 1Azam participants were given a mixer and oven during the event to help them in starting their business. –SayangSabah
