TAWAU: Leaders and people’s representatives for Tawau and Kalabakan did not miss the opportunity to hold their own open houses to celebrate Aidilfitri with the local communities at their residences.
Their open houses received encouraging response from the public where various communities from other faiths came together to celebrate Hari Raya.
Kalabakan MP, Datuk Abdul Ghapur Salleh, held his Aidilfitri open house in the morning at his residence at Jalan Bunga Raya on the third of Syawal, with Apas Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan, organized another Raya open house at Lau Gek Poh Foundation Hall at night of the same day.
The state Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs, Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid, also held Raya open house for the communities. Balung Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Syed Abas Syed Ali, and Tanjong Batu Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Hamisa Samat, were not left behind as they hold an open house at their respective residence on the fourth of Syawal.
Zone 6 UMNO Raya Open House was the finale where it involves the four constituencies of Tawau, Kalabakan, Silam, and Semporna together, with the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Aman, attended the event held at Tawau Community Hall in 23 July. – SayangSabah
