KOTA KINABALU: Nine Sabah security forces and enforcement agencies today received Hari Raya cookies, a joint contribution from the state government, government-linked companies and NGOs.
Among the beneficiaries were the Sabah Police Contingent, Fire and Rescue Department and the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom).
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the contribution was in appreciation of the security forces’ commitment in maintaining security and sovereignty of the country, especially in Sabah.
“This gesture from the state government is in recognition of the sacrifices made by the security forces and enforcement agencies, whose members will be on duty during the festive season,” he said in presenting the cookie hampers here, today.
His speech was read by Sabah Housing and Local Government Minister, Datuk Hajiji Noor.
Musa said without the sacrifices and devotion of the security forces and enforcement agencies it would be difficult for the country to enjoy the peace and security as in the present moment.
However, Musa, who is also Chairman of the Sabah Security Committee reminded the people to remain united and cooperate in maintaining peace and protecting the country from external threats.- BERNAMA
