SUBANG JAYA: The PROTON Design Competition 2015 closed on 18 September 2015 with a total of 427 entries received for both Category 1 (Secondary Schools) and Category 2 (Individuals aged 18 and above).
The competition that ran for 14 weeks starting from June 18 this year was to instill the spirit of creativity and skills among Malaysian in creating innovative design of concept cars especially suited for Malaysian families.
Judges consisted of Heads of various departments in PROTON Holdings Berhad (“PROTON” or “the Company”), led by Azlan Othman, Chief Designer of PROTON with guest judges from the Design Faculty of UiTM and online motoring partners from Paultan.org and Infokereta.com.
This year, the actual deadline for the entries was scheduled for Sept 1 and was extended to mid-September. The extension was in response to requests for additional time for participants from secondary schools as they juggled their time between the festive holidays and school assessments.

Those included hand drawn ideation sketches and exterior rendering for Category 1 whilst interior and exterior renderings were required for Category 2. Submissions must also be on A3-sized paper with coloured visualisation for the final renderings and accompanied by an A4-sized design brief.
