Preserve the culture of Sino community

KOTA KINABALU: Preserve your culture and identity through active involvement in organizational activities.

That is the message from the Chairperson of the Sabah Native Affairs Department, Datuk Mohamad Hj. Alamin, to 25,000 Sino KadazanDusun Murut community members from across Sabah, last night, during his speech for the Koubasanan Om Raani Tavanus Tadau Sino KadazanDusun Murut Sabah Festival 2015 at Putera Theatre Ballroom, Bukit Padang.

He represented the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman.

Meanwhile, the President of PSKDMS, Datuk Johnny Goh, expresses his hope for the state government to recognize Sino community as recorded in the Cap. 64 of the Definition of Native as a full-fledged native ethnicity.

The contested Raani Tavanus title this year was won by Natasha Lee, with Prescilla Ah Soon at second place, followed by Roseanne Tay (third), Tracy Chee Nyuk Len (fourth), Carry Evanne (fifth), Nicole Sharon Chong Jie Nie (sixth), and Jassy Foo (seventh).

Sharon Kung won the Natural Category, with Miss Cheongsam title and Miss Sino FB Glame and Fame titles taken by Lusilah Retni Lim, and Miss Friendly was awarded to Marlelen binti Fook Loi. -SayangSabah
