BEAUFORT: Peoples Housing Project (PPR) developer for Kg. Selagon promised to complete 67 houses in three months after seven years of inactivity, due to unforeseen circumstances.
Previously, the project which was under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government was launched in 2007 with a cost of RM23 million for 300 units planned to be built.
Beaufort MP, Datuk Azizah Mohd. Dun, said the developer has given its guarantee for the PPR project to be completed in June and its progress is now 80 percent in completion.
“I am confident that in the three months period given until June it can be completed by the developer, and fulfilling the demands of residents who have been waiting to settle in the PPR housing units,” she said when met after visiting the PPR project site at Kg. Selagon, here yesterday.
Azizah who is also the Assistant Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development, said the result of her discussion with related ministry, the planned 300 housing units will be realized to meet the quota set up for the project.
She also said that the 67 PPR units at Kg. Selagon in a 4 hectares area will also provided facilities such as mini purpose hall, mosque, shop lots, and recreational park.
Each of the 763 square feet PPR units will be built with three main rooms, including a kitchen and toilet, she added. – SayangSabah
