PPIM empowering members to tackle social problems

TAWAU: Pergerakan Puteri Islam Malaysia (PPIM) needs to empower its members and diversify their skills to help in tackling social problems among the young generation.

Sabah Assistant Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology, Datuk Hamisa Samat, said as an organization which upholds Islamic virtues, PPIM needs to practice the knowledge that they have gained to preserve Islamic characters among the youths.

PPIM members need to guide their colleagues especially in morality and always contribute for their religion, while acquiring knowledge from activities that they joined,” she said in her speech for Tawau PPIM Entitlement Ceremony, here yesterday.

171 PPIM members receive entitlement certificates for various level in the ceremony. Also present is Tawau PPIM Chairman, Rosnah Abdul Razak.

Hamisa also said that every PPIM members need to be dynamic in empowering themselves with knowledge and various skills to become a true Muslim woman.

The Tanjong Batu State Assemblyman (ADUN) also stressed the importance of school students joining uniformed organizations.

Besides from academic excellence, active involvement in co-curriculum units will convince the higher education institution as well as employers about their potential.

“We are not only measured with academic performance, but also our co-curriculum where it will show who we are especially in leadership and commitment,” she added. – SayangSabah
