PETALING JAYA:  Police arrested two men who posed as police officers to rob a fishmonger at the Petaling Jaya lay-by along the Damansara-Puchong Highway here, early this morning.

In the 3.30am incident, the 40-year-old victim was resting at the lay-by when the two suspects approached him and introduced themselves as police.

Subang Jaya Deputy police chief Supt Lee Swee Meng said the two suspects were aged 25 and 29.

“The victim was asked to open the car door before they took a bag containing his personal belonging. A police patrol car that was patrolling the area were suspicious of the two suspects and arrested them,” he told reporters
here today.

Lee said investigations revealed that both suspects worked as tow-truck drivers and had previous criminal records for robbery and car theft.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 393 of the Penal Code and both would be remanded for three days.- BERNAMA
