Police denies kidnap case spread in social media

KENINGAU: The district police denies the alleged kidnapping incident involving a female teen, here, as spread in Facebook social media via the account of Ain Nazri last Wednesday.

Keningau District Police Chief, DSP Douglas Taong, said their investigation discovered that the female teen aged 16 years old presumably kidnapped, was actually following a 32-year-old foreigner who stayed at Tai Wah hotel, room no. 404, to take methamphetamine drugs.

During the raid at the hotel room, he said police personnel were forced to break through since both suspects refused to open the door, and a fighting ensued when the male suspect tried to escape, causing him to get injured on his back and right thigh.

Further investigation inside the room also discovered a translucent plastic packet containing 0.20gramme of meth drug on the table, and urine tests on both suspects confirmed them drug positive for Methamphetamine and Amphetamine.

Both of them is currently detained for further investigation and the case is investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (ADB) for possessing drug substance, and Section 15(1)(a) of the same act for being drug positive. -SayangSabah
