KOTA KINABALU:  The Human Resource Empowerment Programme (PMI) under the Youth  Mind Transformation  Camp  is one  of the initiative to motivate the young generation to venture entrepreneurship.

Deputy Minister of Resource Development and IT Technology, Datuk Hajah Hamisa Samat, said the move is to help youths to find occupation in the working world.

“The National Dual Training System  (SLDN)  is for youths outside the education system and it  will be expanded to enable them to get a better job,”  she said during the DUN Assembly.

She was responding to Charles O Pang (BN-Karamunting) on the government’s plan to open more opportunity to jobless graduates to find employment in the state.

Hamisa said the  government  will  also  set  up a  collaboration  with  local  companies and hold a  Kembara  Kerjaya  programme  and Career  Carnival  in every district  via the National  Blue  Ocean  Strategy ( NBOS) and relevant  agencies  who are  offering work opportunities.

She explained that the  Department of Skills Development  (JPK)  has certified 98 centres  in  the state that are offering  262  programmes for the  Malaysian Skills  Certificate (SKM),  Malaysian  Skills  Diploma  (DKM), and Malaysian Advanced  Skills Diploma  (DLKM)  for  graduates  to acquire skills  with high marketability.  –SayangSabah
