KOTA KINABALU: The state government describes the reshuffle in the federal Cabinet posts as the effort of the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, to strengthen his administration.

The Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Aman, welcomes the appointment of two new faces from Sabah in the Cabinet, and said Najib has the rights to make the decision.

“On behalf of the state government, I congratulate the new ministers appointed to become members of the federal government administration, including to Datuk Seri Salleh Tun Said and Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau.

“I am confident that their experiences in politic and in their previous government office will contribute to the new federal government administration,” he said in his statement.

Salleh was elected as the new Minister of Communication and Multimedia, while Madius hold the portfolio of the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation.

The reshuffle in the Cabinet includes Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to be dropped from his post as the country’s Deputy Prime Minister, and replaced by Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Also dropped from the Cabinet were four other ministers and one deputy minister, with several portfolios changed hands.

Musa also commented that the Prime Minister requires a Cabinet that supports and able to cooperate with him in developing the country.

He also calls for any political differences to stop and advise all parties to focus on the effort to solve the people’s problems. – SayangSabah
