KOTA KINABALU: The Peugeot brand is now commanding 14 per cent of the Sabah market share for the European cars segment, surpassing its target.
“Four years ago, when we re-entered the Sabah market, our aim was to achieve two to three per cent of the market share within three years. Now, I am proud we have achieved 14 per cent instead,” said Nasim Sdn Bhd senior general manager Yasser Awan during the launch of the new Peugeot Kota Kinabalu 3S centre at Inanam on Thursday.
He attributed the encouraging sales of European brands to the Sabahan consumers who are now more discerning as they would look for the best design, engineering, technology and safety before buying.
“In Sabah alone, we have seen the European cars market grow by 56 per cent in 2014 compared to 2010,” said Yasser.
According to him, the newly launched 3S centre is part of a nationwide expansion exercise by Nasim who is the sole importer and distributor of Peugeot vehicles in Malaysia.-Sayangsabah
