This year, PETRONAS will be reaching out to more than 300 beneficiaries from Rumah Warga Emas Nazareth and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Sungai Udang, Melaka.
PETRONAS Managing Director and CEO of PETRONAS Penapisan (Melaka) Sdn. Bhd., Kamal Bahrin Ahmad said, “We are very happy to organise this annual affair as Sentuhan Kasih PETRONAS is our special way of bringing smiles to the less fortunate during this festive season.”
During the event, a total of RM60,000 consisting contributions and staff donations was presented.
“Sentuhan Kasih PETRONAS is held annually by the national oil and gas company as
a way for its employees to participate and contribute to the welfare of communities in its areas of operation,” Kamal added.
Also present at the event was Speaker of Dewan Negara, Datuk Zali Mat Yasin and PETRONAS General Manager of Public Affairs, Mizhan Azri Masri.
More than 70 staff volunteered in gotong-royong activities held at the old folks’ home, while Galeri PETRONAS personnel were on hand to paint murals at the school. Additionally, the PETRONAS All About Youth 2015 finalists from SMK Bukit Baru, Melaka will install their mosquito-trap invention called ‘Mosquito Busters’ at the old folks’ home.
Sentuhan Kasih PETRONAS, first organised in 2005 is designed to drive the company’s social consciousness by reaching out to the less fortunate during the festive seasons, as well as nurture the spirit of giving and volunteerism among its employees.-BERNAMA
