KENINGAU: PDRM officers need to get close with the community and avoid from saying insensitive words that might offend them.
Kenngau District Police Chief, DSP Douglas Nyeging Taong, said the police should serve the community with sincerity if they are to be appreciated for their role in keeping the peace and harmony for the public.
He also reminded police personnel to prevent behaviours which can affect public confidence towards police service, and instead work towards increasing public confidence.
“Never offend the community if we are to preserve our good relation with them,” he said during the Keningau IPD Monthly Assembly, in Tuesday.
During the event Douglas also presented appreciation certificates to 14 recipients.
They are ASP Lee Nyuk Kim, Insp. Kahar Arifin, Insp. Hasrul Izwadi Bin Badaruddin, Insp. Mohd Firdaus Bin Che Ab Wahab, Sgt. Ujin Gabi, KPL Jekius Jaidin, KPL Azarin Bin Gundadar, KPL Mohd Razman Gontok Bin Abdullah, KPL Davey @ Mohd Zamri Bin Ja, KPL Md Adhar Bin Ramli, PF Lily @ Norlaila Kauchai, PF Farzianah Usidi, PF Sharan Bin Sarimin, and PF Lua Kim Choo.
Douglas also presented the District Police Chief Special Award to Sgt. Juspin Sijan for his excellent service. -SayangSabah
