SIMANGGARIS: A bilateral cooperation through the first series of the Coordinated Patrol (PATKOR) 2015 involving Malaysian Armed Forces (TDM) and the Indonesian Army (TNI-AD) have been launched as one of the platform to strengthen the ties of the two countries.
The initiative is also to part of the effort in solving the border issues involving both countries related to smuggling, illegal immigration, and border intrusion.
The PATKOR 1/2015 series will start at GABMAS Post, Simanggaris, and ends at Simanggaris Lama Post, which is 25km away, where both platoons from TDM and TNI-AD will move in a group to cross the international border of both countries.
The launching ceremony for the cooperation ties was done by Korem 091/ASN Commandant, Brig. Gen. TNI Teguh Indratmoko, and witnessed by Malaysian Fifth Infantry Brigade Commander, Brig. Gen. Dato’ Pahlawan Haji Mohd. Anuar Rijaludin. -SayangSabah
