KOTA BAHARU: Kelantan PAS today rapped the central Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) leadership for not respecting the political sensitivity in Kelantan by attending programmes with Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) in the state.
Kelantan PAS Deputy Commissioner 1 Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said PAS had never obstructed cooperation between the central PKR leadership and Amanah but stressed that, at state level, both the parties already had an understanding that PKR would not attend any function organised by Amanah.
“We don’t bar the PKR central leadership (from having dealings) with Amanah as it is their right. But we ask that the sensitivity in Kelantan be taken into account.
“There is actually an understanding between Kelantan PAS and Kelantan PKR on this issue, as such we seek that our understanding with Kelantan PKR be respected by the PKR central leadership,” he told reporters when met after attending a state executive council meeting at the Kota Darul Naim Complex here, today.
PKR Chief Whip Datuk Johari Abdul, prior to this, was reported as saying the party did not have an official relations with PAS, simultaneously allowing PKR to attend programmes organised by any party.
Kelantan PAS, before this, had sent an official letter of protest at the action of PKR in holding talks with Amanah in the state.- BERNAMA
