KOTA KINABALU: Police have arrested two Pakistani traders to help with the investigation about a fight that occurred at Jalan Kepayan Shell station here in 15 July.
District Police Chief, Assistant Commmissioner M. Chandra, said both of the male suspects were arrested following a police report made by a local complainant aged 27 years old who claimed to be injured after he was beaten by one of the suspect.
“Based on information, a team of Criminal Investigation Department personnel from the district police headquarters led by Insp. Shreethran Balan then raided a convenience store at Kg. Petagas at about 1.30am today and arrested both suspects,” he said.
The two Pakistan men, aged 23 and 24 years old were then remanded for investigation under Section 324 of the Penal Code.
“In the 1.00pm incident, the complainant who was worried with the safety of other costumers approached one of the suspects to advise him from using mobile phone while filling up his motorcycle tank at the gas station,” he said.
However, the suspects did not reacted well with the advice and a quarrel ensued with the complainant before the public get involved to calm the situation.
“During the fight, the suspect punched the complainant before leaving the station with his friend using a Honda EXS motorcycle,” he said, adding that the complainant has lodged a report at Tanjung Aru Police Station.
