TAWAU: Tawau Environmental Health Office inspected 20 business premises especially entertainment centres, karaoke, and restaurants in Ops E-Blast, which was launched yesterday.
Environmental Health Officer, Rahman Sampe, said there were no arrest made in the three-hours operation.
“This is because most of the business premises inspected by the police adhere to the prohibition of selling alcohol to under-aged individuals as it is a serious offense where they can be charged in court,” he said, here today.According to him, the operation was launched according to Regulation 361 (4) Food Regulation Act 1985.
Rahman also advises all business premises or entertainment centres to follow the law and regulations to avoid any legal actions taken against them.
The operation was headed by Environment Health Assistant Officer, Kenedi Matusin, and it was a follow-up action for the previous operation launched last year and it will continue in due course, he added. – SayangSabah
