Open houses as platform for ethnic unity

KENINGAU: Open houses for celebrating festive seasons are the best platform to strengthen unity among the people from different cultural and religious background in the state.

Pensiangan UMNO Chief, Datuk Abdul Ghani Datuk Yassin, said open house events held by any individuals or parties in the country especially Sabah can bring people from various ethnics and faiths together.

He said this practice has been the foundation of harmony and ethnic unity regardless of position.

“This proves that rapport and harmony among the communities from various ethnics and beliefs in the country especially Sabah are getting stronger,” he said during the 2015 Christmas Open House held together by Pensiangan P.182 UMNO and Tulid Church Catholic Community (KUK), recently.

Also present were the Assistant Minister of the Chief Minister, Datuk Ellron Alfred Angin, Pensiangan UMNO Vice Chief, Abie Wednes Gambol, Rev. Fr. Ronnie A. Luni, Pensiangan UMNO Youth Chief, Jehan Osman, Tulid KUK Chairperson, Sylvester Lapiris, and Pensiangan UMNO Youht, Women, and Division chiefs. –SayangSabah
