KENINGAU: The public are urged not to make any negative speculation on the nation’s leadership or spread rumors that will tarnish the country’s image in the social media.
Sabah Information Department Director, Datuk Almain Ajirul, said negative perception will sow disunity and disrupt peace among the various ethnics, as well as affecting the government’s credibility in administering the country.
He said the nation’s leadership should be supported by the people from all communities and ethnics to preserve peace and harmony.
“Peace and harmony that are enjoyed by the diverse communities in the country are the fruits of previous and current leaders’ endeavors,” he said during the Al-Mukminin programme by Upper Interior Information Department.
He also said that it is the responsibility of the authority to validate any issues occurring in the country and any individuals or groups should put a stop in making speculations in the social media without any evidence which may raise doubts among the public. – SayangSabah
