KOTA KINABALU: “Don’t give free services even to friends if we want to succeed in business,” said the state Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun, during officiating the opening of Haus Café, this evening.
“IF we want to succeed in business, giving free services to friends should be avoided since it is one of the factors why Bumiputera business owners find it difficult to progress,” he said.
Masidi also calls for the community to make Indian traders as a role model because many of them are successful business owners despite being in foreign places.
“In Ranau, most restaurants are operated by Indian traders, despite the majority in Ranau are Dusun, and they also know how to add value to their business. As an example, they installed a television at their premises to attract customers,” he said.
Haus Café starts its operation today and located at 88 Marketplace, Kepayan. -SayangSabah
