Sayang Sabah - The voice of Sabahans

NGOs must be proactive in helping the needy

They must be proactive
Youth must be proactive

PUTATAN: In conjunction with the month of Ramadan, Youth Organization of Kg. Sri Pandan, Putatan launched a tour programme to extend help for 10 poor families in the village.

Leading the Motorized Tour series was Kota Kinabalu UMNO Youth Vice Chief, Rasman Baddu, who is also the organization’s chairman.

It is the first series launched with the participation of youths from the village.

According to Rasman, the organization made donations of rice supplies and other necessities raised by the organization’s members and Kota Kinabalu UMNO Youth Chief.

“The programme is to cultivate cooperation between its youth members and to give exposure  on living responsibly by helping those who are in need with the supports of the community members, and not relying solely to the government,” he said.

He also stressed that NGOs should rise up and take proactive measures for this issue since the less fortunate in the country requires help from everyone.

The amount of donation is not important, he said, compared to the cause to ease the burden of the needy. – SayangSabah
