New sports complex in Kinarut

PAPAR: The government through its related ministry is urged to consider the plan to build a new sports complex in the district.

Deputy Work Minister who is also Papar MP, Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin, said the facilities will benefit the communities in the district, especially the youths in sports and recreational activities.

According to her, the location for the new sports complex has been identified as required by related ministry before it can be considered for construction.

“Application has been submitted to the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) and also Finance Ministry, and the site for the planned sports complex has also been identified in a location in Kinarut.

“I hope the related ministry will consider the plan for a new sports complex, to speed up its construction, and it will aspire the public in the district.

“If it cannot be done by this year, I hope the project will be given priority in the next 11th Malaysia Plan (RMK-11),” she said when met by the media after officiating Sekolah Agama Negeri Students of Excellence Awards Presentatation at Kg. Pengalat Kecil, here today.

Rosnah said, previously they have applied for the sports facilities in Padang Pekan Papar to be upgraded.

She added that the proposal has also been agreed in the Federal level but has yet to be started, due to unavoidable legal issues. – SayangSabah
