BEAUFORT: Various efforts have been carried out by the government to spur religious education progress which is evident with the latest plan to construct a new religious school for Weston and Lumadan.
Sipitang MP, Datuk Sapawi Ahmad, said the government has proven its commitment for religious education with many religious schools has been built including in Weston and Lumadan.
“I have met with the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, and he has agreed to approve the construction of a new religious school for Weston and Lumadan. This shows that the government has never ignored the progress of religious education for the next generation,” he said at Weston Mosque.
Previously, Sapawi was taking part in the Ramadan Visit programme to meet with the Muslim community at Kg. Lobuk Mosque.
Sapawi also said the plan for the new religious school is still in the technical phase and will soon be opened for tender. – SayangSabah
