KOTA KINABALU: The government uses up to RM6,527,690 million annually for 31 community rehabilitation centres (PDK) in the state where the fund is channelled through the state Public Welfare Department.
Vice Director of the Department of Welfare Divison of Kota Kinabalu, Ahmad Razalie @ Titus Selabin, said in Kota Kinabalu alone two PDKs are active and have 145 trainers and 9 personnel.
“Another PDK will be set up in Tanjung Aru, but it still requires the approval for annual grant from the Malaysia Community Welfare Department, and as a future plan, a new PDK will be built in Inanam,” he said.
He also said all the 145 trainers receive PDK special allowance of RM1,500 per year.
He was speaking during delivering the text speech of BAKISA President, Datin Seri Panglima Datuk Hajah Faridah Haji Tusin, for the Christmas celebration and PDK allowance presentation at Taman Likas Jaya PDK, this morning.
BAKISA also gives out RM5,000 donation to PDK during the event. –SayangSabah
