SEMPORNA: The soon to be open Tun Sakaran Gallery Museum will become a new attraction for both the locals and tourist alike in Sabah.
The two-storey museum built with Bajau Semporna and Lepa-Lepa traditional concept will house two exhibition section for the collections and biography materials of Sabah former Governor, Tun Sakaran Dandai, a prominent figure in Sabah history, especially for Semporna residents.
Senallang State Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Nasir Sakaran, said the museum is built as a historical reference centre about the struggles of the state’s former leader, and as a knowledge hall to preserve Sabah traditional heritages.
The museum which costs RM3 million is wholly funded by the state government, and located at Inabah Kamal Complex, which is about two kilometers from the main town of Semporna. – SayangSabah
