KOTA KINABALU: Malaysia in becoming a developed nation requires a boost in the science and technology aspect in order to help gear up the country’s industries.
Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOST), Datuk Seri Panglima Madius Tangau, said without an advanced science and technology it will be difficult for the country to compete with other developed nations.
“Sabah is well-known with conservation and it is beneficial in the state development in the future.
“It is the same with industrial development, where it is vital for the country’s development. Without it, we cannot move forward,” he said during the launching ceremony for the Sabah Acacia Woods Value-Adding Technology Transfer – Stia Community Project which is supported by the ministry, today.
As the new MOSTI Minister, he said it is not easy for him to face the challenges of science and technology.
However, he said the ministry remains committed in upholding its responsibility in developing the sector not only in the country, but Sabah as well. –SayangSabah
