KOTA KINABALU: Eleven trainers of Mount Kinabalu Torq received the Singapore’s medal of commendation for their deeds in protecting the republic’s civilians during the earthquake disaster with a strength of 5.6 magnitude in 5 June.
The medals were presented by Singapore’s President, Tony Tan, and its Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong, during a ceremony held in the country for its National Day celebration.
The Torq trainers were among the sixteen individuals who protected the students from SRK Tanjong Katong, Singapore, at Mount Kinabalu when the disaster occurred.
Singapore government also acknowledged their responsible conduct in taking care of the students. –SayangSabah
