Assistant Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development, Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun, said the achievement is apparent with the increase of women taking high positions in public sector (JUSA), amounting to 33.7 percent last year compared to 31.7 percent in 2012.
“The achievement is in line with the government’s target which aims 30 percent of women involvement in JUSA,” she said after officiating Beaufort International Women Day Dinner Party, here yesterday.
The Beaufort MP also said there are 93 women who have become committee board members in public companies, and the achievement surpassed the ministry’s initial Key Performance Index (KPI) of 20 individuals.
“The effort will continue to ensure a larger participation of women in corporate sector by 2016,” she said, adding that 17 percent (123 members) of the board committee members in the Ministry of Finance Banking Company (MKD) in 2014 are women, compared to 13 percent in 2011.
