KOTA KINABALU: KadazanDusun Murut Writers Club or Monunurat Momogun Malaysia (Momogunsia) is urged to gear up literary publication related to ethnics in Sabah and launch more studies through cooperation ties with other ethnics in Southeast Asia.

UPKO President, Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau, said Momogunsia is a literary body that can contribute in producing KadazanDusun learning materials for academia.

“Various ethnics in Sabah have rich cultural heritage that has yet to be explored fully and it is important for local ethnic writers to produce literary works and researches on their own ethnics for future reference that can be used by other academics from inside and outside the country,” he said during a courtesy visit by Momogunsia committee led by its deputy chairman, Raymond Mojumah, at his office.

In the visit, Raymond also brief Madius on the organization’s activities and planning for next year to organize a regional ethnic writers meeting that includes other countries in the Southeast Asia region. – SayangSabah
