Ministry of Resource Development and Information Technology’s new goals this year

KOTA KINABALU – Ministry of Resource Development and Information Technology will be moving forward towards their new goal this year after having successfully accomplished their last year objectives.

Its Minister, Datuk Siringan Gubat said they will hold 34 construction skill course as well as five of contractor compliance seminar in order to develop Bumiputera technical proficiency as much as possible.

“Last year’s achievement was commendable since we were able to hit 73 percent of Bumiputera participation in this training.”

“There were 2523 Bumiputeras involved and we hope the number will increase a lot higher this year,” he added.

He shared the government has targeted 90 percent of the online services for Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) development.

“Our ministry needs to make sure all the systems are working properly for better services to the customers,” he said adding that a new system online such as e-status will give swift services for Bumiputera recognition status application.

The application could also help lessen the work burden that encounters by Bumiputera Status Unit.

“Mobile Application was built for Sabah Job Portal in order to aid the unemployed in jobs seeking and contributing a lot of information of the jobs offer,” he said.

They will be implementing   Electronic Government Activities Enactment 2014 that has approved by State Legislative Assembly, last year.

“We will be completely implementing this enactment as it will assist to upgrade the quality system of our services to the citizens,” he added.

He said they will maintain and repair all the equipment in e-Desa Centre instead of building a new centre in rural area like previous year.

“We are on the ongoing process of preparing programmes under 11th Malaysia Plan in order to develop ICT and human capital. ”

“We will carry out four new programmes under Department of Human Resource Development and two programme under Sabah Skills and Technology Centre to manage the Federal allocations,” he said.

“We will be actively involved in sport as our Sport and Recreation Club (KRS) has organised Sukan Antara Agensi event which involves Department of Human Resource Development, Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn. Bhd., Sabahnet Sdn. Bhd., and SSTC.

Participation to this event is crucial to promote interaction and relationship between the departments,” he said.  -By Saila Saidie/Sayangsabah.
