Men, woman deny robbing Japanese tourist

KOTA KINABALU: Two men and one woman pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court, today, for the charge of robbing a Japanese tourist in a group.

Syamsiah Lanasimun, 30, Soh Ching Ten, 34, and Hazroy Ismail, 23, were charged together for robbing RM,1,500 cash, 10,000 Yen, and USD 65 from a Japanese Tourist who was staying at one of the lodging at Kg. Air, here, around 3.00pm in 5 January.

All of the accused were charged under Section 395 of the Penal Code which carries the punishment of up to twenty years jail and caning, if found guilty.

Judge Ainul Shahrin Mohamad set 25 January for their case mention.

The court granted bail of RM15,000 for the trio by one local bailor, and ordered them to report themselves at Karamunsing police department on the 1st and 15th of every month.
