KOTA KINABALU: The MCA Penampang division managed to secure a financial aid of RM10,000.00 from the federal government.
It was through the Prime Minister Department’s yearly allocation of financial aid for the non- Muslim places of worship such as churches and temple for the benefit of the Grace Chapel Penampang church in order to assist them in their renovation of a new prayer hall.
The cheque was handed over to an elder of the Grace Chapel Penampang church, Voo Yun Chiang by MCA Penampang division chairman Datuk Paul Kong Sing Chu in the presence of Rev Chang Chai Heng at Wisma Kinsabina yesterday.
The division’s deputy chairman Datuk Francis Goh Fah Shun, secretary Robert Chin Swee Ming, women wing’s chairman Lo Chui Lin, vice chairmen Wong Kai Seng, Kapitan Chong Kwee Fatt and Kapitan Wong Chin Liong were present to witness the simple ceremony.
Also present were the division’s organising secretary cum deputy youth chairman Stephen Kong Yin Seng, publicity chief Gerald Goh Wah Yong and women vice chairman Datin Rose Wong Pick Yii.
The recently sworn-in councillors of Penampang District Council-Robert Chin Swee Ming,
Stephen Kong Yin Seng and Gerald Goh Wah Yong were also made themselves available at the presentation ceremony.
The meaningful event was also witnessed by Kapayan’s community development leader Liau Su Sang.
“MCA Bahagian Penampang will continue to source for more financial aids from various sources in order to help the people of Kepayan in Penampang,” pledged Paul.- Sayangsabah.
