KOTA KINABALU: Police authority is confident that they have solved six cases of house break-in reported around February this year, after arresting three suspects in two different raids.
The three suspects including a married couple aged 18 to 34 years old, known as ‘Geng Sky’, confessed of their involvement with six house break-in cases since early this year, causing worth of loss up to RM34,000.
District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner M. Chandra, said all suspects including the married couple were arrested after a man lodged a report about a robbery in his house.
“In the 6.00pm incident, the complainant who has just returned from work heard a noise coming from inside his house,” he said in a press statement at Karamunsing District Police Headquarters, here today.
“He tried to open the door but it was locked from inside, and he had to break the door of his house which is located at Blok B Bambangan Apartment Inanam,” he added.
According to him, the victim then saw someone was trying to escape through the ceiling and he failed to chase the suspect.
Based on the report and investigation done at the same day, the police raided a house at Blok C, at the same apartment complex, and arrested a local woman aged 18 years old at 8.00pm.
“The woman suspect then threw away four bags from her house when she saw the police. Inspection on the bags has found they belonged to the victim,” he said.
Further investigation has led the police to arrest another two male suspects aged 22 and 34 years old at Kg. Kalansanan, Inanam, around 11.15pm on 20 March.
