Man tried for injuring his uncle

KOTA KINABALU: A local man pleaded guilty at the Sessions Court, today, for the charge of injuring his uncle.

However, Judge Azreena Aziz set 25 January for mitigation and sentence verdict, as the accused character reference report was still pending.

The accused, Mohd Fairul Ahmad, 20, committed the crime at the frontyard of an unnumbered house at Kg. Bolong Baru, Tuaran, around 4.00pm in 4 July, last year.

He can be punished under Section 335 of the Penal Code with four years jail maximurm, up to RM4,000 fine, or both, if found guilty.

According to the case fact, the accused was having a verbal fight with the victim, caused by unsettled family problem.

The accused then threatened his uncle, who in return went home to take his parang and back again, shoving and aiming the weapon through the window.

The accused severely injured his uncle when he chopped his right wrist.

Fairul will be jailed until his next hearing.
