KENINGAU: A man was arrested for possessing 5.03gramme of Methamphetamine and straws containing drugs with the worth of RM700 during a police raid at a house at Kg. Pampang, Keningau, yesterday.
District Police Chief, DSP Douglas Nyeging Taong, said during the operation the police found the house was unlocked and the suspect was currently at the living room.
“The police took the suspect’s wallet put inside his pants’ pocket and upon inspection it was found hiding a transparent plastic packet and nineteen red straws containing drugs,” he said.
The suspect is investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the punishment of two to five years jail and caning, and Section 15(1)(a) of the same act with the punishment of RM5000 fine and two years jail maximum.
“The suspect is remanded to help with the investigation to find the drugs source,” he said, adding that the police will not stop in fighting drug trafficking activities in the district. -SayangSabah
