KENINGAU: A local man with a shot wound in his left chest was found dead in the forest.
District Police Chief, DSP Douglas Nyeging Taong, said the victim, Lido bin Bayangad, 37, from Kg. Penagatan, died at the scene due to severe bleeding.
Based on acquired information, a team of police from the district Crime Investigation Department (CID) led by Insp. Roning Mulut was rushed to the location.
“The incident’s scene which is in a forest area is near to the complainant’s orchard, where the victim was found lying with blood stains,” he said.
Nearby the victim’s body were a green jacket, one sling bag, a machete, and a homemade gun (bakakuk), where upon inspection it was discovered that a white bullet shell inside the firearm has exploded (used),” he added.
The victim’s body has been sent to Keningau Hospital for further action. –SayangSabah
