PENAMPANG: A 35-year-old man died after his vehicle crashed into a road divider and plunged into a drain at Jalan Pintas, Penampang, in front of ITCC Building, this morning.
The victim, from Kg. Bingkor Baru, Keningau, and worked as a construction manager died at the scene due to serious injuries after he was tossed out from his Isuzu Invader.
District Police Chief, DSP Rosley bin Hobden, said the initial investigation discovered the victim was going to Donggongon from Kota Kinabalu direction.
The victim, he added, was speeding and subsequently unable to control his vehicle and collided with the road divider, causing him to plunged out from the car and died immediately at the scene.
“it was believed that the victim was driving under alcohol influence, and a blood sample has been taken for testing,” he said.
The body has been sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Forensic Department for autopsy.
The case is investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transportation Act 1987. –SayangSabah
