KULIM: A 41-year-old man was beaten up and his motorcycle burnt, when he went to collect unpaid rent from his tenants at Kampung Bukit Krangan here on Thursday night.
Kulim district police chief Supt Abdullah Arshad said the victim and his wife who lived in Padang Serai, had gone to the house to recover two months of unpaid rent from the tenant.
“When the victim and his wife arrived at the home at about 12.30 pm, there were four men and a woman there, and then an argument ensued causing the victim to be attacked by several men who were at the house,” he told Bernama here today.
He said the attackers then burned the victim’s motorcycle.
He said the victim who was seriously injured, was rushed to the Kulim Hospital, and his wife then lodged a police report.
Abdullah said the police then arrested and remanded five people including a woman, all aged 20 to 28, until Jan 21 to assist with the investigations.- BERNAMA
