KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Dragon, Unicorn & Lion Dance Association has created two new Malaysia Book of Records yesterday for making the largest handmade unicorn head replica measuring 2.44m (height) by 2.25m (width) and organising the most number of unicorn dance troupe in a single event totalling 105 troupes.

The national records were set at the Sabah World Hakka Unicorn Convention 2015 during the parade of the unicorns flagged off at the Gaya Central Hotel by Mayor Datuk Abidin Madingkir and ended at the Oceanus Waterfront Shopping Mall here.

The Sabah Dragon, Unicorn & Lion Dance Association president cum organising chairman Dr Danny Kok received both the records certification from a the Malaysia Book of Records’ representative.

The two-day convention on March 26-27 was also held in conjunction with the grand opening of the Sabah Hakka Complex on March 28 at Tanjung Lipat, Likas, Danny said.

“We have succeeded in organising the convention as we have participation from not only Sabah but also from China, Singapore, Taiwan, Philippines, Brunei and some peninsula troupes,” Danny said.-Sayangsabah
