KOTA KINABALU: ‘Malaysia Sehati Sejiwa’ was selected as the theme for this year’s National Day celebration which symbolizes the unity of people from various ethnics and religions in the Peninsular, Sabah, and Sarawak.
The committee chairman for the Sabah level 2015 National Day Celebration, Datuk Hajiji Mohd Noor, said the theme selection is to inject new patriotism spirit into the people of Malaysia.
“It is in line with the concept of 1Malaysia which prioritize harmony and unity among the people from different races and religions,” he said during the event with media in conjunction with the Sabah level 2015 National Day.
He opined that cooperation, tolerance, and ethnic unity are the main prerequisites to build a peaceful and harmonious country.
In this matter, he said it is the responsibility of every citizen to come together and preserve the peace and harmony enjoyed since the country’s independence. – SayangSabah
