KOTA KINABALU: Sabah UMNO liaison chief Datuk Seri Musa Aman said solidarity, consensus, loyalty and sincerity should remain as the basis for party members’ struggle in UMNO.
He said such elements that had long been entrenched in UMNO were what made UMNO and the Barisan Nasional (BN) strong.
“We can prove that UMNO in Sabah is strong and solid from every election, where we continued to win the majority of state and parliamentary seats,” he said while launching the Putatan UMNO delegates meeting for 2015 here today.
He said despite Sabah’s ‘youngest child’ status in UMNO, it had contributed greatly to the party’s strength to the extent of being acknowledged as the ‘fixed deposit’ for the party.
Musa who is Sabah Chief Minister also urged the division’s Wanita, Pemuda and Puteri wings to utilise the social media to reach out to the youth and to channel information about the party and government.
He also said UMNO appreciated the contributions by the three wings in the party struggle, describing them as complements to the party machinery, “hence why UMNO continued to remain strong”.
Meanwhile, Putatan UMNO chief Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin said the division had unanimously approved a motion to declare its support for Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak to remain as prime minister and lead BN.-BERNAMA
