TAWAU: The low water pressure problem, affecting supply, in three areas in the Apas state constituency would be overcome soonest possible, said Sabah Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan.
Tawfiq, who is also Apas assemblyman, said the matter had been referred to Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, who is also state Infrastructure Development Minister.
“The affected areas are Tinagat, Kau Sing and Ranggu. Currently, these three locations are getting their water supply from the town areas.”
He said in his speech at the handing-out of hampers and ang pows to Chinese community leaders in the Tawau parliamentary constituency, in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.
Tawfiq said as the Balung area had excess water supply, the Sabah Water Department would channel water from there to these areas in need.
He also reminded residents in the affected areas to contact him in cases of water supply disruptions to facilitate the sending of water tanker trucks to their areas.- BERNAMA
